2010 NAPA Quality in Construction Awards (QIC)
Bredesen Park Trails

Bituminous Roadways won a NAPA Quality in Construction Award for the Bredesen Park walking trail in Edina. This project was a complete reconstruction of a 2.2 mile walking path. The trail was quite a challenge with many obstacles such as flooding, tight quarters and bridges that our equipment could not navigate across. BR also won the award in 2009, for work completed on the first phase of the Bredesen Park Trail Improvements.

2010 NAPA Outstanding Web Site Award

Bituminous Roadways was awarded the National Asphalt Pavement Association Outstanding Web Site Award for the second consecutive year. This award recognizes designs that promote the use of asphalt.

2010 MN Construction Health And Safety Excellence (CHASE) Award

Bituminous Roadway's, Inc. was presented with the MN CHASE (Construction Health And Safety Excellence) award for the seventh consecutive year. The CHASE program is a proactive effort between Bituminous Roadways, MN OSHA and MN AGC to reduce job site accidents and injuries. Our company is one of just 19 contractors in the state to achieve this award and be recognized for its industry leading safety program.

2009 NAPA Quality in Construction Awards (QIC)
Blake Road, Edina

Bituminous Roadways was awarded a "Quality in Construction" award from the National Asphalt Pavement Association for the Blake Road project, from Vernon Ave. to Interlachen Blvd. in the city of Edina. The project was scheduled to take two days, however using all available resources BR was able to cut that time down to a mere six hours. BR incorporated recycled asphalt pavement, recycled asphalt roofing shingles, and foamed warm mix asphalt technology into the asphalt mixture for this project.

Bituminous Roadways was awarded a National Asphalt Pavement Association QIC award for the Bredesen Park Trails project in recognition of creativity and ingenuity for completion of the densely wooded and extreme level of non-maneuverable pathways.

2009 Minnesota LECET Safety Driven Safety Incentive Program

The MN LECET Safety Driven Award is designed to acknowledge excellent safety performance and the overall proactive approach to safety displayed by both Skilled Construction Union Laborers and Signatory Contractor employers. This is an initiative which hopes to reduce injuries, illness, and workers compensation costs while encouraging continued success in site safety and productivity.

I-35W (St. Anthony Falls) Bridge

Minneapolis, Minnesota

BRI served as the asphalt paving sub contractor to Flat Iron-Manson on the rebuild of the interstate 35W bridge in Downtown Minneapolis. Winning projects are honored for advanced and innovative application of total integrated project delivery and finding unique solutions to project challenges.

2008 MNDOT Annual Asphalt Award-Federal Aid Secondary

Bituminous Roadways, Inc. was awarded the Federal Aid Secondary Award for its work on Highway 149 in Dakota County. BR performed the asphalt paving as a subcontractor to Park Construction Company.

2008 MPCA Green Star Award
Minnesota Pollution Control Agency

Minnesota Green Star facilities earn recognition for completing the requirements of the MPCA's voluntary Environmental Audit Program. The audit targets areas such as water, air, solid waste, hazardous waste, and tanks. This program encourages industries, businesses, and governments to examine their facility's operations to confirm that they are in compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, and correct any problems that may exist.

2008 Diamond Achievement

Bituminous Roadways, Inc. was awarded the Diamond Achievement & Ecological Commendations at its Inver Grove Heights plant located on Rich Valley Boulevard and its Shakopee plant located off of Highway 101.

The Diamond Achievement is the pinnacle of achievements and was developed by the National Asphalt Paving Association to recognize and encourage excellence in operations at asphalt plants. The Inver Grove Heights plant has earned the Award every year since 2000 and the Shakopee plant since 2001.

2008 Ecological Commendation Award
Minnesota Asphalt Pavement Association

The Ecological Commendation Award program recognizes hot-mix asphalt production facilities that demonstrate exemplary safety and environmental practices. Facilities are judged based on design, layout, cleanliness and appearance, as well as whether or not the facility conducts educational tours and informative sessions within the local community.
